Volunteer with Us!
VEWS is an all-volunteer non-profit organization. Our volunteers are vital to fulfilling our Mission, and we are always looking for dedicated and compassionate horse lovers to help care for our rescue horses!
Typical volunteer opportunities include:
Barn Shifts
Help with hands-on horse care. There are daily morning and evening shifts that entail cleaning stalls, feeding, and grooming the horses. Training is provided, and we follow the natural horsemanship principles.
Fundraising
Help organize and work fundraising events like formal fundraising events, information/merchandise booths, sell raffle or event tickets, concessions, sales and other special events.
Marketing/Media
Help with website and social media marketing and promotion efforts.
Volunteer Events
Volunteers are needed to plan and execute various volunteer appreciation events

Foster
Volunteers are needed periodically to foster long-term VEWS horses on their private property to make stall space for new rescues

Horse Training
Many horses that come to us will not have received proper training in their former life. It is the intention of VEWS to provide proper ground and under saddle training, where necessary, to ensure the horse has the best chance of being adopted and finding their forever home.
Miscellaneous
VEWS needs volunteers for many things that come up periodically or are a one-time occurrence.

If you have a passion for horses, a desire to learn and would like to join our team of devoted volunteers, please submit a volunteer application!
Please note that due to the nature of working with and rehabilitating abused horses, we do not accept volunteers under the age of 14. Minor volunteers must have a parent sign their liability release form and must be accompanied each shift by an adult until they are able to independently drive themselves.
