HORSES IN QUARANTINE-REHAB-TRAINING

Please note these horses are not up for adoption yet, but check back frequently! Please consider a donation to assist with their care

Lacey

Lacey

Lacey, a previous VEWS resident, returned April 17. Lacey is a beautiful, good riding mare who didn't fit in with her adopter's other horses. Just like people, sometimes horses don't click with their herdmates. We will find her the perfect place. Lacey is an 18 year old Morgan/TWH cross, who stands15.1H. We are giving Lacey time to settle in, but stay tuned as we prepare her for her forever home.

Duncan

Duncan

Duncan and his buddy Domino arrived at VEWS on March 10 as owner surrenders. Duncan is a sweet and healthy 25 year old gelding looking to live out his golden years in a loving, attentive home. Duncan stands 14.3 and is up to date on all immunizations, Coggins, teeth floating, worming, and farrier. He is easy to handle and comes to the gate to greet you. When he is available, Duncan will go as a companion only. He's ready to be you and your horse's best buddy!

Duke

Duke

Duke is a youngster who arrived March 19 and is completing his quarantine time. This young man stands 14.3 with a lot of leg, so he will be a big boy! A Haflinger/Belgian cross, Duke displays the kind and gentle manners of the draft breeds. He is adjusting nicely and stands well for farrier and vet. He is a blank slate ready to be fully trained. Be the first when he is ready for a forever home to complete an application.

Hope

Hope

Hope is an owner surrender who arrived at VEWS on March 17. This gorgeous Percheron mare is 17 years old and stands 17.1. From the moment she arrived, Hope impressed our volunteers with her kind and willing behavior. She is a big girl but puppy dog gentle and easy to work with. Hope has Chronic Progressive Lymphedema (CPL) and Chronic Proliferative Pastern Dermatitis (CPPD) in her left hind. She is receiving lots of TLC and care for her leg while she settles into the VEWS routine. Stay tuned as Hope's journey continues. Hope is our first sanctuary horse and permanent resident. She is not available for adoption. This pretty mare will remain with us and remind us of the importance of "Hope."
