ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT
Lola is ready for her forever home. This 14h, 7 year old Saddlebred cross pony has potential as a riding partner and is already beginner safe for all ground work and handling. We will assess her under saddle soon. If you're experienced and knowledgeable, Lola would make a wonderful training project. We'll continue working her, but come see her now and fall in love! Adoption fee: $1200

New VEWS Merchandise

Our first in-take at our Glen Allen location, Twix, is eating well and has a strong spirit. Twix has not had an easy life, but is now enjoying lots of TLC. His care and maintenance are expensive but this sweet senior gelding deserves it. Please consider donating to Twix's care today.

VEWS VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH SPOTLIGHT
JUNE

Please join us in celebrating SueAnn Wheeler, VEWS Volunteer of the Month for June!
SueAnn has been a VEWS volunteer since September 2024 and currently serves as the back up shift lead on our Tuesday evening shift. SueAnn's co-lead shared the following comments: ""I am thrilled to recognize SueAnn as VEWS Volunteer of the Month! As a highly dedicated backup shift leader, she is always ready to step in when needed, offering steady support to both our horses and our team. Her calm, reassuring presence makes an incredible difference—especially to our horses who rely on calm, confident handling. She is my go to for handling some of our more sassy horses.
Whether she’s guiding a shift, soothing a nervous horse, or lending a hand wherever it’s needed, SueAnn brings a sense of peace and reliability that we deeply appreciate. Her commitment helps ensure that every horse receives the best care, comfort, and compassion they deserve."
Thank you, SueAnn, for all you do for VEWS and VEWS horses!
In SueAnn's words: "I’m 25 and from midlothian VA. I started riding when I was 5 in the hunter/jumper world. I continued to ride and work with horses through high school and got the opportunity to ride for my college team at LSU. After school I went and worked with horses out in Wyoming. My favorite part of volunteering with VEWS is watching the horses develop mentally, physically, and socially. "
